William Logsdail is best known as a genre painter of large scale metropolitan scenes, particularly London landmarks. Throughout his life he used his friends as models for his works. A frequent exhibitor at the Royal Academy, Logsdail was one of the first artists to exhibit at the New English Art Club in 1886.
