Harding copied the portrait when it was in the collection of the Duke of Bedford at Woburn Abbey. The original is the only known contemporary likeness of Rogers and was painted at the end of his career. It shows him with his white rod of office and what is probably a magnifying glass of rock crystal hanging around his neck.
