Reigning for over six decades, during an era in which the use of portraits on personal and domestic items dramatically increased, Queen Victoria's image was immediately recognisable to the public. Clay pipes depicting her head were widely available. Although they were overtly patriotic, they also belong to a long tradition of humorous pipe bowls for tobacco smokers.
Card size: 125mm x 175mm
Images are printed in their original proportions, within a white border.
