Coward settled in Jamaica in the late 1940s, where he built two homes. Shown here at his hilltop home 'Firefly' where he was visited by numerous celebrities. He said of Firefly's influence on his writing: 'the sentences seemed to construct themselves, the right adjectives appeared discretely at the right moment. Firefly Hill has magic for me ...'. Coward was buried at Firefly after his death.
