Son of MP Sir Michael Grylls and Lady Grylls, Edward Michael 'Bear' Grylls learned to climb and sail from an early age. While serving in the Territorial Army he suffered a parachute accident, however this did not stop him becoming one of the youngest people to climb Everest in 1998 - fulfilling a childhood dream.
