A poet, writer, journalist and editor of The London Magazine from 1961, Ross praised Fleming's first Bond novel in his Times Literary Supplement review as 'an extremely engaging affair'. Ross and Fleming became close friends, and are pictured here with Fleming's wife at Goldeneye in Jamaica.
