Racing motorist. Thomas was one of many women who took up the sport of motor racing in the 1920s and 1930s. She was popular in racing circles and drove at Brooklands from 1928-32. With her husband she broke the 500 mile record and was the first woman to make a lap at Brooklands at an average speed of 120 mph.
