Author of the James Bond series of spy novels. Ian Fleming joined Reuters in 1931, then went into the City (1933-9). During the Second World War, he was personal assistant to the Director of Naval Intelligence and oversaw operation 'Goldeneye'. In 1945, he joined the Kelmsley Newspaper Group and took a holiday every winter in Jamaica at his home Goldeneye, named after his wartime work.
