Schoolmaster, author and accomplished mountaineer. Wilfrid was the son of Sir Frank Noyce of the Indian Civil Service and his wife Enid Isabel. He was born in Simla in 1917. Educated in the UK, he took a First degree in Modern Languages from King's College, Cambridge.
