Actress and theatre manager. Lillah McCarthy made her debut on the London stage in 1895 and found instant success. She joined the leading actor and playwright, Wilson Barrett, at the Lyric Theatre the next year, followed by a tour of Australia. Upon her return in 1900, she became the leading lady in Quo Vadis?, The Sign of the Cross, Hamlet, and Othello.
