Director of Studies at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (RIIA) from 1925 until 1955 and co-editor of the RIIA's annual Survey of International Affairs. Toynbee worked for British Intelligence during World War I and served as a delegate to the Paris Peace Conference in 1919.
