Brought up in Darlington, Reeves (b.1959) started performing as a stand-up comedian in the early 1980s on the London alternative comedy scene. He met his comedy partner Bob Mortimer (b.1959) while performing his stage show Vic Reeves Big Night Out in 1986. A television series of the same name was first broadcast in 1990, and soon attracted cult status.
