Parnell's counsel, Sir Charles Russell, in an exchange with Thomas Miller Beach. Beach, known as Major Le Caron was a government spy who gave evidence to the Commission based on his twenty-five year infiltration of nationalist groups in North America. Published in The Graphic, 16 February 1889.
