This caricature was published the week after the Maharajah's horse 'Cherry' won the Viceroy's Cup in Calcutta. The accompanying text also mentions that the Maharaja had just sent an Arab charger to Lord Roberts, who was on his way to South Africa, to take command of the British forces in the Anglo-Boer War.
This was the third caricature contributed by this artist, all of sitters based in South Asia.
