Bishop of Haiti. Born to free black parents in Washington DC, Holly became a preacher for the Episcopal Church in America. In 1861 he left his parish of St Luke's Church, New Haven, Connecticut, and arrived in Haiti with 101 black emigrants to establish an Episcopal mission.
