There is another print of this subject by Wallerant Vaillant. Browne's print is lettered 'Francisco Permens pinxit' that is likely to be a variation for Parmigianino (Girolamo Francesco Maria Mazzola, 1503-40). Parmigianino was particularly esteemed by the English and his work was avidly collected.
