Admiral; second-in-command to Lord Howe at 'The Glorious First of June', 1794, one of the earliest naval victories in the war against France. He was Commander-in-Chief of the Channel Fleet, blockading Brest almost continuously, 1797-1800. The younger brother of Admiral Lord Hood.
