The Neon Bible (1995) and The House of Mirth (2000) were adapted from novels by John Kennedy Toole and Edith Wharton respectively. Commissioned as part of Liverpool's City of Culture celebrations in 2008, Davies's highly acclaimed documentary Of Time and the City is a poetic tribute to his hometown.
