Chair of the Arts Council, London since 2000. Lady Hollick was educated at the University of Sussex. She began her career as a Producer and Director of Granada TV's World in Action (1969-81) and later became the Founding Commissioning Editor for multicultural Programmes for Channel 4 TV (1980-4). She served as Chairman of the Index on Censorship (1993-2000).
