Webster was born in Leicester in 1967, completed her art foundation course at Leicester Polytechnic and then received a BA in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University in 1989. During her time in Nottingham she met Tim Noble, with whom she has worked since 1994. From 1989 to 1992, Noble and Webster took up residency at Dean Clough, Halifax, West Yorkshire. Their solo exhibitions have included PS1/MoMA, New York, 2003 and Modern Art is Dead, Modern Art, London, 2004.
