During his career at Cambridge University and as editor of the philosophical journal, Mind, Moore made an enormous contribution to the development of twentieth-century Anglo-American thought. He was one of the founders of the Analytic tradition in philosophy, more interested in analysing the significance of common-sense beliefs than in debating their truth.
