Morris followed her father, Dr Henry Morris, in choosing a medical career, first at Bedford College and then from 1902 studying medicine at the (Royal Free Hospital) School of Medicine for Women, where she qualified MB BS in 1908 and MD in 1911, and won the Mackay and Evans prizes.
