Painter; Tindle studied at Coventry School of Art and was associated early in his career with the Soho artists of the late 1940s and early 1950s. His teaching posts include Visiting Tutor at the Royal College of Art (1972-83) and Ruskin Master of Drawing at Oxford University (1983-5). In 1979 Tindle was elected Royal Academician. He is best-known for his work in the medium of egg tempera and has subsequently developed a meticulous pointilliste technique to produce mainly still life, landscapes and interiors.
