Popplewell made her film debut in 1999 in Mansfield Park, based on Jane Austen's novel. In 2005 she starred in the film adaptation of C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and in the two subsequent films from the Chronicles of Narnia series, Prince Caspian (2008) and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010). Popplewell is reading English at Magdalen College, Oxford.
