Cronin often practiced as a physician with her husband Archibald Joseph Cronin whom she had met while studying medicine at Glasgow University. The Tredegar Medical Aid Society, where Cronin assisted her husband, offered members healthcare for small contributions, which contributed to the future model of the British National Health Service.
