Wilfred Pickles' radio experience ran from acting to reading the news in his Yorkshire accent, the first non 'standard BBC' speaker to do so. He is, however, best remembered as the compere of the travelling radio quiz Have a Go which ran from 1946 to 1967, interviewing ordinary people throughout the country and rewarding undemanding questions with cash prizes.
