Playwright; Ayckbourn has written over 50 plays including Absurd Person Singular (1973), The Norman Conquests (1974), A Chorus of Disapproval (1984) and Man of the Moment (1988). Highly original in his manipulation of theatrical conventions, his pair of plays, House and Garden (1999) were performed simultaneously on adjacent stages by the same cast.
