Journalist, writer, presenter and television producer. Born Janet Bull in South London, she was married to photographer Tim Street-Porter (1967-75). Street-Porter studied architecture before taking up journalism, joining the Daily Mail in 1969 and the Evening Standard in 1971. In 1975, she moved to television. As Head of Youth and Entertainment Features at BBC 2, Street-Porter commissioned numerous popular series, including Red Dwarf and Rapido.
