Suffragist and peace campaigner, Snowden joined the Leeds Women's Suffrage Society in 1903. A member of the executive committee of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies and the International Women's Suffrage Alliance, she lectured on the subject internationally. Her books and pamphlets include Women and the State (1907), The Woman Socialist (1907), and The Feminist Movement (1913). Her husband, Phillip Snowden was elected Labour MP in 1906, giving his full support to the votes for women campaign.
