Born on April 10th 1897 in Yorkshire. Wrote many books including The Happy Land, invitations to Life, The Flying Yorkshireman, This Above Alland also co-wrote the Why We Fight series with Frank Capra. Best remembered for his children's story about a boy and his dog Lassie, which was made into a feature film with the title Lassie come home.
