Diego Alberto Aracena Aguilar began his military career as an Army Officer in 1911 and by 1914 was assigned to the Aeronautical Military School. There he obtained the position of Military Aviator and in 1920, War pilot. He was appointed Acting Director of the School of Military Aeronautics and sent to England to further his knowledge of aviation.
