Welsh-born sprinter and hurdler, Jackson set a world record for the 110 metres hurdles in 1993, a time that remained unchallenged for over a decade. He won a silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and two gold medals for the same event at World Championships in 1993 and 1999.
