Writer and translator. Antonia White worked in journalism and advertising before making her reputation with her first novel, Frost in May (1933), an autobiographical account of convent school life. Later works include The Lost Traveller (1950), The Sugar House (1952), Beyond the Glass (1954) and the translation from French of five novels by Colette.
