Born in Lancashire, Jane Horrocks trained at RADA and first came to critical attention in Mike Leigh's 1990 film Life is Sweet. In 1992/3 she starred in the play The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at the National and Aldwych theatres in London, reprising the role for the 1998 film adaptation. Horrocks played 'Bubble' in the long-running British television comedy series Absolutely Fabulous and has voiced parts in animated films including Chicken Run (2000) and Corpse Bride (2005).
