The plate was originally published in Paris in 'Le Follet' on 27 July. Described in the Court Magazine:
1st. Figure - Redingotte garnie, of mauve colour striped silk; the corsage à pointe en coeur. The sleeves are long and full, plaited down at the shoulder, and confined by a honillon of the same, the remainder full to the wrist, but it will be perceived they are by no means immoderately large.
