Neurologist; practised as a physician at the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases in London where he also taught. Served in France during the First World War as a consulting neurologist to the Forces and made important studies on disorders of cerebellar and spinal cord function from gunshot wounds. He was later elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society and appointed C.B.E. for services rendered during the War.
