Scott-James is shown reading the April 1952 edition of Country Fair magazine 'the monthly journal of the open air' which was edited by Macdonald Hastings with A.G Street during the 1950s. John Gay first worked with Hastings on The Strand magazine, which was edited by Hastings between 1946 and 1950.
