Tanzanian-born (of Ghanaian descent) Adjaye is one of the UK's most successful architects. His buildings are influenced by African and contemporary art, whilst being informed by the local area surrounding them. His work includes the pavilion for the artist-led collaboration The Source at Tate Liverpool and the Mass Extinction Monitoring Observatory on the Isle of Portland, Dorset.
