Colledge became the youngest-ever Olympic competitor when she participated in the 1932 Lake Placid Winter Olympics aged eleven, and was placed eighth. In 1936 she won a silver medal at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Winter Olympic Games. By the late 1930s, she had held both the World and European Championship titles. During World War II, Colledge became a driver in the Mechanised Transport Corps, and afterwards became a professional skater and emigrated to America.
