Poet, playwright, author and broadcaster Rosen studied English at Oxford University, and his first play Backbone, was performed at the Royal Court Theatre in 1968 whilst he was still a student. His works for children include the book of poetry Mind Your Own Business (1974), and novels You Wait Till I'm Older Than You (1996) and Uncle Billy Being Silly (2001).
