Charles Inglis was a Canadian clergyman and educator who became the first Anglican bishop of Nova Scotia. Inglis went to North America and became a master in a church school in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1757. In 1758, in England, he was ordained deacon and priest. Sent to Dover, Delaware, Inglis undertook evangelical work among the Mohawk Indians. In 1765 he was appointed assistant to the rector of Trinity Church in New York City.
