Wilfrid Blunt was a diplomat and poet, then maverick activist who supported Irish and Egyptian nationalism. Introduced to Jane Morris by Rosalind Howard, he cast himself as Rossetti's successor in love, and Jane responded to his practised seductions. Jane created a shamrock design for Blunt's Prison Poems after his arrest in Ireland, and his next volume was published by the Kelmscott Press.
