Anees Fatimah was a cousin of Sir Saiyid Ali Imam, following the death of his second wife, Mariam, the two cousins married. The couple lived a fulfilled life, Sir Saiyid Ali Imam was devoted to her, building a huge residence for them in Ranchi, Bihar. The residence, unusually styled as a Scottish castle and known locally as 'Anees Castle', was built with no expense spared. A mausoleum was also built as a final resting place for the couple.
