Andrew Geddes was a Scottish painter and etcher. After his father's death he went in 1806 to study at the Royal Academy Schools in London, after which he set up as a portrait painter in Edinburgh. He went to Paris in 1814 and was then chiefly based in London. Geddes visited Rome in 1828 and travelled on the Continent, returning early in 1831.
