Actor, writer and broadcaster; a member of the Monty Python team, Michael Palin has also written and starred in the television series Ripping Yarns (1976-80) and the feature films The Missionary (1983) and Fierce Creatures (1997) as well as writing and presenting three expedition series for BBC television (1989-97). He won a BAFTA award as Best Supporting Actor for A Fish Called Wanda (1988).
