Robert Peake was the grandson of Tudor artist Robert Peake the Elder. His father, William Peake, was a printseller, and on his death in 1639, Robert inherited and continued the business. He published many of the finest prints of the 1640s, by engravers including William Faithorne, Edward Pierce and Wenceslaus Hollar.
