This vintage photograph by H.Walter Barnett was taken in the year that Scouting for Boys was published. Within each of its chapters Baden-Powell described training ideals and recommendations that would help the scout become a happier individual and better citizen. Underpinning this approach was a personal pledge to keep the 'Scout Promise'.
