by Simon Frederick

Born in south London to a Nigerian father and a mother of English-Irish descent. In 2010, Umunna was elected the Labour MP for Streatham, the area where he grew up. He cites his experience of seeing extreme poverty first-hand on visits to Nigeria, and the subsequent desire to challenge injustice, as the motivation for his political career. He studied law at the University of Manchester, the University of Burgundy and Nottingham Law School. Umunna served as Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills between 2011-5. He launched a leadership bid for the Labour Party in 2015, but withdrew and returned to the backbenches. Umunna is known for campaigning on matters relating to the fair running of the City and supported the Remain side during the Referendum on UK membership of the EU. He left the Labour Party in 2019 as part of a group of MPs who formed The Independent Group. He is a vocal supporter of the People’s Vote campaign group, which is calling for a public vote on the final Brexit deal.

Royal Mail and our other regular global couriers have stopped asking for signatures when delivering parcels to customers. In cases where a parcel does not fit through a letterbox, the courier will leave the item at the door, and will step aside after knocking to ensure there is a safe distance while you retrieve your parcel.

In addition, some couriers are experiencing delays at this time. We would be grateful if you could have patience with us during this challenging time.
