Aviator; following a short-service commission in the RAF (1923-8), Mollison became an airline pilot in Australia. He undertook various record-breaking flights including Australia to England (1931), England to the Cape (1932), and twice crossed the Atlantic. He was married, (1932-8), to Amy Johnson, and like her served in the Air Transport Auxiliary during the War.
