Grayson Perry is an English contemporary artist. Born in Chelmsford, Essex, Perry studied fine art at Portsmouth College of Art (1979-82) and undertook pottery classes at the Central Institute from 1983. His practice primarily involves working with ceramics, but has extended to include textiles and printmaking. He is well known for cross-dressing and for challenging social injustices through his work.
